Dr. Bickenbach is a member of a variety of medical organizations including the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Americas Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Association, and is a councilman for the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. He is widely published and has presented at national meetings on cancer related topics.After graduating from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2002, Dr. Bickenbach completed his surgical residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center in 2009, where he was elected administrative chief resident. During that time, Dr. Bickenbach completed a two-year research fellowship, focusing on the use of oncolytic viruses in the treatment of cancer. Following residency, Dr. Bickenbach completed a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He sees patients at Morristown, Overlook, Newton, Chilton and Hackettstown medical centers.
