Dr. Kalyani launched the Diabetes Management Service for Johns Hopkins’ Total Pancreatectomy Islet Auto Transplant Program in 2011. She is the co-founder of the Johns Hopkins Diabetes POC-IT Guide for healthcare professionals. She is also the founder and past Editor-in-Chief of the Johns Hopkins Patient Website to Diabetes. Dr. Kalyani has been the Chief Scientific and Medical Officer of the American Diabetes Association since 2025. She previously served as President of Medicine & Science on the ADA's National Board of Directors. She continues to have a clinical practice as an adult endocrinologist.
