Overview
Dr. John Shank is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle injuries. He has treated high school, college, and professional athletes, including Olympic medalists and players from the MLB, NFL, and NHL. Dr. Shank has served as foot and ankle consultant for the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, and currently consults for the Olympic Training Center and Colorado College. He treats sports injuries, trauma, and performs both simple and complex foot and ankle reconstructions. His expertise includes arthritis, cartilage injuries, fractures, and deformities. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Colorado and a foot and ankle fellowship at Harborview Medical Center under Sigvard Hansen, Bruce Sangeorzan, and Stephen Benirschke. He also completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic with Dr. Richard Hawkins. Dr. Shank has been named a Top Foot and Ankle Surgeon by Colorado Springs Style and a Top Orthopedic Surgeon for Business Executives by Colorado Business Journal.
