His personal interests include landscape gardening, travel, basketball, tennis, and reading.As a team physician for over 13 years with Middle Tennessee State University, Dr. Patel was instrumental in developing the athletic department’s concussion protocol and management policies. He has been overseeing its ImPACT testing and treatment programs since its use there and also enjoys working with the athletic trainers and athletes at Sewanee: The University of the South as well as many local middle and high schools.
