She is actively engaged in NIH-funded clinical and translational research involving the relationship between type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, and aging. She is additionally involved in research investigating mechanisms by which chronic disease states such as malignancy, HIV, hepatitis C, and cystic fibrosis impact bone quantity and quality.
