Dr. Rita P. Jen

Dr. Gilchrist was selected by her peers as an Atlanta Top Doctor in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Emory University School of Medicine. She is a recipient of the coveted Fulbright Scholarship. Joye K. Lowman MD, MPH, FACOG, FPMRS, earned her medical degree from The University of Pennsylvania, her masters degree from Columbia University and completed her residency at Abington Memorial Hospital. She completed her fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) at Indiana University, the first accredited program in the country and one of the top training programs in the country. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Spelman College and is dual board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. In 2000, she also completed her Masters in Public Health at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.Dr. Lowman has been practicing medicine for 18 years. She is the only African American graduate of the esteemed Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship program at Indiana University Purdue Institute. Dr. Lowman has won awards for outstanding research in the field of Urogynecology and presented her research nationally and in South Africa. She moved back to Atlanta to start the Urogynecology department for Kaiser Permanente in 2008 and lead that department for 10 years.In her spare time, Dr. Lowman enjoys spending time with her family and her Labrador retriever. Dr. Nazia Bandukwala graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in microbiology from the University of Georgia. Afterward, she went on to earn her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Bandukwala completed her internship and residency in Urology at Detroit Medical Center. Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Bandukwala completed her fellowship in female pelvic medicine, urologic reconstruction and urodynamics in Miami, Florida, during which she also published articles on urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Additionally, she also served as a clinical instructor in the urology department at Michigan State University. Dr. Bandukwala enjoys serving the community - she is a recipient of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons Humanitarian Scholarship. She is also an active member in the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction, Society of Women in Urology, American Urological Association, Society of International Urology, and American Osteopathic Association.
