I wanted to be an architect my whole childhood, until one day in 11th grade social studies class, I saw a movie about a cosmetic plastic surgeon in Paris who would go out to the surrounding rural areas and perform pro-bono (free) reconstructive surgeries on children with birth defects and accident/burn victims. The doctor was considered a hero by the people in the villages and deservedly so. He improved the lives of countless people and was loved and revered. When the doctor came into town, he was treated like a king. That day I decided I was going to be a doctor. I put my drawing paper and protractor away and have never looked back. What I want my patients to know about me:I want my patients to know that I care about them and will always do my best to help heal them. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:In my free time, I'm usually with my wonderful wife and kids, helping any one or combination of them with whatever they need. In the rare circumstance that all the planets line up in a row and everyone in my house is settled and doing well, I can swim in my pool, play my drums in the basement (my drum set is one of my prized possessions), or run off to the beach in the summer, lay in the sand, and bake myself like a french fry. Dr. Goldberg is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC). His top areas of expertise are Ascites, Diverticular Disease, Urothelial Cancer, Liver Embolization, and Bone Marrow Aspiration.

I was enthusiastic about the opportunity to use science and technology to help people. As an Interventional Radiologist, I can balance highly technical imaging modalities with hands-on surgical patient contact. This has resulted in a wonderful balance for me.What I want my patients to know about me:I am currently chairman of Imaging and Radiation Oncology at WellSpan York Hospital. I have a background and fellowship training in Interventional Radiology as well as CT, ultrasound and MRI from Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital. My passions include musculoskeletal radiology and sports medicine, and I completed an internship in surgery (originally heading to a residency on orthopedic surgery). My current driving interest is in the application of advanced MRI imaging in men's health, specifically related to prostate cancer as well as applications of Artificial Intelligence in Imaging. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I am active and play tennis regularly, have open water SCUBA certification, and enjoy trail bike riding in the summer. In my spare time, I have written a medical thriller and a screenplay, which was optioned in Hollywood. I am in the process of writing a second novel but seem to run out of time on a regular basis. Books and reading are a wonderful escape, as is going to the movies. I love to travel, especially in Europe, and have strong ties to Romania and Hungary, where I was born. Dr. Steiner is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC). His top areas of expertise are Familial Prostate Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Lung Nodules, and Vertigo.

What is the definition of Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC)?

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common type of kidney cancer (90%) and originates in the lining of the renal tubules (small tubes in the kidney) that filter and clean the blood, remove waste products, and produce urine. Renal cell carcinoma occurs more often in men, people who smoke, or who have other kidney disorders, as well as individuals with a family history of kidney cancer or inherited disorders that increase the risk of renal cell carcinoma (see Causes below). Renal cell carcinoma is categorized by the following stages: Stage I – Tumor is in kidney, has not spread (metastasized), and is 7 centimeters or less. Stage II – Tumor is in kidney, has not spread, and is larger than 7 centimeters. Stage III –  The kidney cancer is any size and has spread to near lymph nodes (metastasis); or the cancer has spread to blood vessels in the kidney or nearby blood vessels (renal vein or vena cava), to the parts of the kidney that collect urine, or to the layer of fat surrounding the kidney and may have spread to nearby lymph nodes. Stage IV – The cancer has spread outside the fat surrounding the kidney, and may have spread to the adrenal gland on top of the kidney or nearby lymph nodes; or the cancer has spread to other areas of the body, such as the adrenal glands, distant lymph nodes, liver, lungs, brain, or bone. The stage of renal cell carcinoma determines its treatment and outcome (prognosis).

When should I see a Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctor near York, PA?

There are various reasons why you may want to see a specialist, such as:

    • Your primary care provider recommends it.
    • Your condition requires expert knowledge and specialized care.
    • Your symptoms persist or worsen despite treatment.
    • You need specialized testing or procedures.
    • You want a second opinion.

What should I consider when choosing a Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctor near York, PA?

It’s important to see a provider with expertise in your specific condition. Each provider profile in MediFind’s doctor database includes information on which conditions they treat, years of experience, research contributions, languages spoken, insurance plans accepted, and more.

How does MediFind rank Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctors near York, PA?

MediFind’s rankings are based on a variety of data sources, such as the number of articles a doctor has published in medical journals, participation in clinical trials and industry conferences, as well as the number of patients that provider sees for a given condition. Note that MediFind’s provider database is not based on user reviews, and providers do not pay to be included in the database.

What types of insurance are accepted by Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctors near York, PA?

Most profiles in MediFind’s doctor database include a list of insurance plans accepted by that provider. However, it’s a good idea to contact the provider’s office to make sure they still accept your insurance, then doublecheck by contacting your insurance plan to confirm they’re in network.

How can I book an appointment online with a Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctor near York, PA?

MediFind offers direct scheduling for certain providers using the “Request Appointment” button on that provider’s profile. If the schedule option is not available for a provider, tap the red “Show Phone Number” button on their profile to get their contact information. If you prefer to find providers who offer online scheduling, select “Schedules online” under the “Availability” category of the filter feature on the left side of the Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctor search results page.

Why is it important to get a second opinion from a different Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctor?

Second opinions are an opportunity to confirm a diagnosis and its root cause, learn about alternative treatment options, or simply gain peace of mind. Many people, especially those with serious diagnoses, get second opinions so they can understand all their options and make informed decisions, so don’t hesitate to get one if you have any doubts or need more information or clarification regarding your care. Note that some insurance plans require second opinions, while others don’t cover second opinions, so be sure to confirm with your insurance provider first.

How can I prepare for my appointment with a Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctor near York, PA?

Prepare for your appointment by gathering the following items:

    • Copies of medical records (dating back at least one year)
    • Your medical history, including illnesses, medical conditions, surgeries, and other doctors you see
    • Family history of disease
    • List of current prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies or supplements including names and doses
    • Allergies to medications, food, latex, insects, etc.
    • List of questions and concerns
    • Your insurance card

You might also contact the provider’s office to see if they offer transportation or childcare services or if you’re allowed to bring a loved one for support or to take notes during your visit.

What questions should I ask my Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctor?

    Here are some sample questions:

    • Can you explain in simple terms what this condition is and how it’s treated?
    • What symptoms or side effects should I watch for?
    • What tests will be involved, and when can I expect results?
    • Are there other specialists I need to see?
    • What’s the best way to reach you if I have follow-up questions?

How can I learn about the latest clinical trials and research advances my Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctor may know about?

MediFind’s Clinical Trials tool asks you a series of questions to help you narrow down your search by health condition, age, gender, location, how far you’re willing to travel, and more. Each question you answer filters down the number of trials until you find the ones that are most relevant to you.

MediFind’s Latest Advances tool features summaries of recent articles published in medical journals. We use cutting-edge technology to scour medical publication databases for the latest research advancements on any given condition, then we simplify this information in a way that’s useful and easy to understand.

Can I filter my search to show male or female Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctors near York, PA?

Look for the filter feature on the left side of the Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctor search results page. Select “Female” or “Male” under the “Gender” category to search for female or male providers exclusively. If the “Any” option is selected, it will pull results for both male and female providers.

Can I filter my search to find a Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctor that offers video calls?

Look for the filter feature on the left-side of the Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) doctor search results page. Select “Offers telehealth visits” under the Availability category to search for providers who offer virtual appointments (video calls).
