Mayur Patel, M.D. earned his medical degree from Amravati University in Amravati, India. He received training in Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery at Bombay Hospital and Research Center in Mumbai, India. He completed his Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowships at East Tennessee State University. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Patel was a full time attending physician with Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates in Jacksonville, Fl. He had also worked at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tn for three years. Dr. Patel also served as a clinical staff associate professor at East Tennessee State University for the Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship program. Dr. Patel joins Piedmont Physicians with 13 years of experience. He has special interest in Critical Care, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Interventional Pulmonary procedures such as EBUS, Navigational Bronchoscopy, Bronchial Thermoplasty, Pleurx catheter, and post cardiac arrest hypothermia therapy. Craig M. Patterson, M.D., completed his fellowship at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, La. During his post-graduate training, he was selected as the inaugural Russell C. Klein Visiting Fellow for the LSUHSC Global Pulmonary Exchange Program with Ege University in Izmir, Turkey. He previously completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and medical school at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and an Eagle Scout. Before joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Patterson was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. He is board-certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine. His professional interests include pulmonary hypertension, venous thromboembolic disease, and critical care medicine. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and a participant in the ACCP's Pulmonary Vascular Disease One Network. Dr. Patterson enjoys cooking and travel. Georges Al-Helou, M.D., earned his medical degree at American University of Beirut. He then attended George Washington University where he completed his residency and fellowship training.Dr. Al-Helou is board-certified in pulmonary, critical care and internal medicine. His professional interests include bronchoscopy, transbronchial biopsy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS). He is also experienced with navigational bronchoscopy, thoracentesis and bedside percutaneous tracheostomy.In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, opera and traveling. He is an avid rugby player and coach, and a loving husband and father to a new daughter.
