Overview
Dr. Xu is a Physiatrist specializing in Interventional Pain and Spine. He is intimately involved in the North American Spine Society where he is a committee and faculty member having taught courses in advanced spinal injection techniques both nationally and internationally across multiple continents. He is also involved in the advancement of evidence based spine care through review and development of clinical guidelines.
Dr. Xu's primary focus is to develop a treatment plan to improve functionality in order to help improve patients' quality of life. He does this through a combination of conservative and interventional modalities (procedures and surgeries).
Dr. Xu treats spine disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbosacral spine, coccyx pain, sacroiliac joint pain, piriformis syndrome, post-laminectomy syndrome, sympathetic pain and CRPS (Complex regional pain syndrome), musculoskeletal conditions (muscle pain, tendinopathy, and joint pain), along with many other conditions through a variety of procedures some of which include:
- Epidural steroid injections
- Facet injections and medial branch blocks
- Radiofrequency ablations including Coolief
- Spinal cord stimulator trial and implantation
- Shoulder, hip, and knee injections including genicular nerve radiofrequency ablation
- Sacroiliac joint injections and radiofrequency ablation
- Sympathetic nerve blocks
- Piriformis injections
Dr. Xu also performs electromyography (EMG) studies to evaluate for carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar neuropathy, peripheral neuropathy, as well as cervical and lumbosacral radiculopathies.
He is a member of the North American Spine Society, Spine Intervention Society, and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. McCabe earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia where she majored in biology and psychology. She completed her residency at the University of Colorado. Dr. McCabe is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.Dr. McCabe specializes in spine, musculoskeletal and electrodiagnostic medicine. She is passionate about enhancing and restoring functional ability and quality of life for her patients utilizing a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach. She is proficient in ultrasound guided joint injections, trigger point injections and fluoroscopic- guided joint injections and utilizes these skills along with medication management, therapeutic exercise and psychological support to help her patients heal and thrive. She also performs electromyography (EMG) studies to evaluate for carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar neuropathy, peripheral neuropathy and cervical and lumbosacral radiculopathies. Dr. McCabe also performs Botox injections to treat conditions such as spasticity, thoracic outlet syndrome and chronic migraine. She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.In her spare time, Dr. McCabe enjoys spending time with her two boys, husband and dogs, exercising and traveling.Dr. McCabe welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans. Dr. Alexander provides nonsurgical orthopedic care to patients utilizing his training in nonsurgical management of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and sports-related injuries. His practice includes nonsurgical orthopedic medicine, interventional spine, and musculoskeletal medicine, Botox injections to treat migraine and dystonia, spinal cord stimulation, and sympathetic blocks.Dr. Alexander is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. and completed medical school at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He completed a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency at The University of Miami-Miller School of Medicine and went on to complete a Pain Medicine Fellowship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
