Dr. Gay graduated with honors from the University of Georgia with a focus on genetics and cellular biology. He then earned his medical degree and completed his residency training at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Next, Dr. Gay completed fellowship training at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, mentoring under several international leaders in the field of reproductive medicine.
