Dr. Louis Y. Korman

Dr. Louis Y. Korman is a gastroenterologist affiliated with Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington Hospital Center and George Washington University Hospital. He is also an instructor of the internal medicine and gastroenterology training program at the Veterans Administration Hospital/Georgetown University Residency and Fellowship program. He practices out of Capital Digestive Care’s Metropolitan Gastroenterology Group, located in Washington, D.C. and Bethesda, Md. Dr. Korman earned his medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He completed a residency in internal medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, as well as a fellowship in gastroenterology. Dr. Korman is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, as well as other professional organizations. He was previously a chairman of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Medical Advisory Board and a chairman of the Home Health Care Committee of the Jewish Social Services Agency. Dr. Korman has been repeatedly named a Top MD in Washingtonian Magazine and Consumers’ Checkbook Magazine, as well as a 2014 Regional Top Doctor by Castle Connolly. He also earned the American Gastroenterological Society’s Distinguished Clinician of the Year Award in 2015. Dr. Korman has contributed to numerous publications and presentations on gastroenterology topics.
