A Colorado native, he graduated from Overland High School in Aurora where he was awarded the Bausch & Lomb Science Award for his “Excellent Promise in the Field of Science.” He went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology from the University of Denver and graduated Cum Laude. He then attended the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical School where he received the William Winter MD Award for his “Outstanding Performance in Orthopedic Surgery” as a senior medical student. He continued his passion for orthopedics by completing his residency at the University of Cincinnati and affiliated hospitals. As a graduating chief resident he was selected as the recipient of the Peter J. Stern MD award “in recognition for outstanding qualities in professionalism, patient care, and teaching.” He then decided to pursue subspecialty training and completed an Upper extremity/Hand fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina. During fellowship he received the Fellow’s Clinical Science Silver Award by the Wake Forest Division of Surgical Sciences for his research on nerve injuries. Dr. Choudhry has several research endeavors that have been presented at national meetings and published in prestigous scientific journals. Prior to working at Cornerstone Orthopedics, Dr. Bierbrauer graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and Chemistry from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. He attended The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University, where he was a Dean’s Award recipient. After medical school, Dr. Bierbrauer completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital and his fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute in Louisville, KY. In 2011, he worked at Front Range Orthopedics in Colorado Springs from 2005-2011. As the official US Ski Team Physician, he has had the opportunity to travel internationally to France and Canada.
