I have chosen to direct my efforts as a physician toward improving the quality of life for women who are dealing with pelvic floor disorders. I focus on listening to a patient's description of her symptoms and their impact on her, her goals for treatment, and – by using evidence-based techniques– I evaluate her condition. Treatment options might vary from patient to patient; the best way to proceed is often an individualized decision. I am pleased to have been a member of the Duke faculty since 1996.
