Andrew R. Watson, MD, MLitt, FACS FATA, is a professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.  Dr. Watson is an expert in minimally invasive colorectal surgery with a focus on inflammatory bowel diseases - ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Dr. Watson is board-certified in general surgery. He obtained his Masters in Literature and Architectural History at Oxford University, England. His medical degree was obtained from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York.  He completed his surgical residency and fellowship at UPMC. Dr. Watson has special interests in telemedicine and digital healthcare.  He serves as a senior medical director for digital health at the UPMC Health Plan.  He is also a senior medical advisor to UPMC Enterprises.  He is past president of the American Telemedicine Association.  He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons as well as the American Telemedicine Association.
