Dr. Khurram Ahmad worked as a Interventional Cardiologist at Beaumont and Henry Ford Systems in Michigan for 7 years before moving to Texas. He also served as the teaching faculty for the Oakwood Hospital cardiovascular Fellowship. He earned his medical degree with honors from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan before coming to the United States in 2004. He is a fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist with certification in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, cardiac CT, and interventional cardiology. Currently, less than five percent of the procedures in the United States are being performed using this new, innovative approach.Parikh also has specialty training in non-invasive cardiac and vascular imaging, including echocardiography, stress tests, nuclear medicine and peripheral vascular ultrasound studies. His areas of clinical expertise include coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease (including diabetic ulcers), critical limb ischemia, valvular heart disease, venous disease, cardiac arrhythmias, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.
