
Overview
Allison L. Speer, MD, joins Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital and McGovern Medical School at UTHealth from Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She has clinical and research interests in intestinal rehabilitation, advanced minimally invasive procedures, and thoracic/foregut surgery. A cum laude biochemistry graduate of the University of Southern California (USC) at Los Angeles, received her medical degree at Keck School of Medicine at the same institution. She completed her residency in general surgery at USC, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, followed by a fellowship in pediatric surgery at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Speer has received numerous academic recognitions, including the Ethicon-Society of University Surgeons Surgical Research Fellowship Award and the Keck School of Medicine Outstanding Teaching as a House Officer Award. Her research has been published in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery, Journal of Trauma, Regenerative Medicine, and the Journal of Surgical Research, among other peer-reviewed publications. She is a member of the medical staff at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, , Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is an assistant professor with dual appointments in the Department of Pediatric Surgery at McGovern Medical School and the Department of Surgical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She has clinical and research interests in intestinal rehabilitation, advanced minimally invasive procedures, and thoracic/foregut surgery.

He is board certified in pediatric surgery with a special interest in clinical trials and minimally invasive surgery. He completed his Pediatric Surgery Training at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He joined The University on August 1, 2007. Dr. Tsao is a clinical researcher with interests in diseases of the neonate and children. His primary research is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neonatal gastroesophageal reflux disease as it relates to chronic lung disease of prematurity. Dr. Tsao has been the principal investigator or co-investigator on several prospective clinical trials. His research program supports medical students and surgical residents interested in pediatric surgical clinical research. Dr. Tsao is highly rated in 14 conditions, according to our data. Utilizing the latest research available, he applies his diverse training to caring for each child with an appropriately unique and optimized approach. A resident of west Houston, Dr. Harting is married and the father of three young children. His favorite leisure activity is spending time with his family. Dr. Lally holds the Richard Andrassy, MD, Endowed Distinguished Professorship and the A.G. McNeese Chair in Pediatric Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School. He has been recognized with the President’s Award for Mentoring Women, as well as UTHealth’s Teaching Excellence Award and Outstanding Surgical Educator. In practice since 1991, Dr. Lally treats patients up to 18 years old. He is known for his availability, competence and compassion. His child-friendly practice offers state-of-the-art surgical care and a clear interest in his young patients. A resident of Houston, Dr. Lally is married and has four children and five grandchildren.
