Amber Makani, MD, is an interventional and structural cardiologist and is certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a clinical assistant professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed her residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland Case Western University, followed by her fellowship and subspecialty training at UPMC.Dr. Makani’s clinical interests include interventional cardiology, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), closure of patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defect, as well as left atrial appendage closure (LAAO).
