Dr. Andrew B. Morgan

"Dr. Andrew B. Morgan joins AtlantiCare as a fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon, bringing both expertise and empathy to his practice. A lifelong New Jersey native, he found his calling in medicine through early exposure to the clinical environment that fueled his pursuit of medical school, where he blended academic rigor in anatomy and biology with a dedication to patient care. Dr. Morgan pursued colorectal surgery because it allows him to deliver definitive, meaningful interventions while fostering long-term relationships with patients navigating complex and sensitive conditions. Colorectal surgery addresses many conditions including colon/rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor disorders, screening colonoscopy, and anorectal conditions. By prioritizing shared decision-making with patients as well as multi-disciplinary teams, he asks the simple but powerful question: “Is this treatment going to help what matters most to you?” He supports these discussions with clear visual aids reviewing CT scans and MRI, as well as anatomy and surgical models to build understanding and collaboration. He earned his MD from Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University (Philadelphia, PA), completed General Surgery Residency at Cooper University Hospital (Camden, NJ), and further specialized through a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida (Weston, FL). He completed board certifications in both General Surgery and Colon & Rectal Surgery. Personal Interests Outside the clinic, Dr. Morgan cherishes family time—especially beach weekends at the Jersey Shore—and spending time in the outdoors camping/kayaking as well as gardening and building Lego, hobbies also shared with his wife and children. His clinical expertise encompasses Familial Colorectal Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Lynch Syndrome, Ureteral Reconstruction, and Colostomy.
