Dr. Taban is a graduate of the prestigious NYU Neurosurgery program. In his many years of service to the Northridge Community, he has been one of the earliest supporters of the Neuro Trauma Center at Northridge Hospital and was instrumental in its development and, in the 1980s and 1990s, was the only neurosurgeon supporting it. Under his guidance, the Neurosurgery Program at NRH has grown to be the best in the San Fernando Valley. He has been Chief of Surgery twice at Northridge Hospital and was Director of the Neuroscience Institute from 2005-2016. He was also closely involved with teaching of Neurosurgery at the Family Practice Program, which started in 1977, and again the only one to do so for many years. He has continued to be very involved in the development of the Neurosurgery Program at NRH. He is rated a 4-5 star Neurosurgeon on all major online physician rating sites. It is not unusual for Dr. Taban to see patients from all over California, as well as from other states and countries.
