
Overview
Barbara Jantausch, MD, is a physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Children’s National Hospital. She is a professor of Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Jantausch’s clinical interests include general infectious diseases, fever of unknown origin, congenital infections, tickborne diseases and tropical medicine. She is interested in medical education and is a former Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship program director at Children’s National. In 2019 she was awarded the Elda Arce Teaching Scholar Award by her peers, for her innovative teaching and outstanding contributions to the education of students, residents and fellows. Dr. Jantausch is currently a member of the Children’s Academy of Pediatric Educators. She is interested in global health education and she teaches in the Children’s National Global Health Course. Dr. Jantausch enjoys sailing, traveling, bird watching and nature photography.
