Dr. Brian George is the Division Head for Acute Care Surgery at Michigan Medicine. Dr. George received his BSE in Engineering Physics at the University of Michigan before obtaining his MD from the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine. He went on to complete his surgical residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital. During his residency he also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Surgical Education Research at Northwestern University, a post-doctoral fellowship in Surgical Education and Leadership at the American College of Surgeons, and a Master’s of Education at the University of California Berkeley. He completed his Trauma/Critical Care fellowship at the University of Washington’s Harborview Medical Center prior to joining the faculty at the University of Michigan.Clinical Specialization: Dr. George provides clinical care in trauma surgery, non-trauma emergency surgery, general surgery and surgical critical care.
