Dr. Brian Kapp

John Danella, MD, is a urologist and director of the Department of Urology for the Geisinger Surgery Institute. Dr. Danella obtained his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University. He completed his residency at Geisinger Medical Center and his fellowship in urological oncology at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Danella is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Urological Association and the Society of Academic Urologists. Under the direction of Dr. Danella, Geisinger Urology participates in the Pennsylvania Urologic Regional Collaborative, a consortium of academic urologic practices across the state which is committed to advancing the care of prostate cancer patients. Dr. Danella’s clinical interests include the management of all urologic malignancies, including prostate, bladder, kidney and testis cancers. He is very experienced at robotic surgical approaches to these conditions, when appropriate. Dr. Danella believes that urologic cancers are ideally managed by a multidisciplinary approach, and collaborates closely with colleagues in medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology and diagnostic radiology to offer the optimal therapeutic approach to individual patients.
