Dr. Carlos E. Sabogal

Carlos Sabogal, MD, serves as chief of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine. He is board certified in pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine.Dr. Sabogal earned his medical degree from Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal in Lima, Peru. He completed his pediatric residency training at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and a fellowship at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Division of Pediatric Pulmonology where he received the Fellow Research Award in 2001 and the Fellow of the Year award in 2002.Dr. Sabogal currently serves as an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics at both the Florida State University College of Medicine and the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. He continues to perform research in respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), airway inflammation and apnea. Additionally, his pulmonary interests include bronchopulmonary dysplasia, asthma, viral-induced airway inflammation, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung diseases and sleep medicine.Dr. Sabogal is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and American Academy of Pediatrics. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.

His clinical expertise encompasses Cerebral Hypoxia, Bronchogenic Cyst, Empyema, and Tracheobronchomalacia.

Dr. Sabogal is board certified in American Board Of Pediatrics, American Board Of Pediatrics - Pulmonology, and American Board Of Pediatrics - Sleep Medicine. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 1 peer reviewed article.
