Catherine Zorc, MD, is a board-certified primary care pediatrician. A former teacher, she works with families to get the best education possible for every child. She is also an advocate for foster children, working to make sure they get the medical care they need. I was a second grade teacher before I went into medicine. I saw how hard it was for families to get help for their children. I thought I could do more to help families as a physician, working alongside them to help their kids.It’s exciting to work with a family from the day the child is born until the child is grown up. I enjoy building a relationship with families, and helping families along the way as they raise their children. It gives you the chance to help families cope with illness from the beginning until the child recovers, or helping the family cope during the most difficult challenges. I’m passionate about helping parents help their children get the best education possible — from making sure the school fits the child’s needs to making any accommodations necessary.I want to support mothers who breastfeed. There is a lot that can be done to help get breastfeeding mothers the help they need. I work with Nemours Health and Prevention Services. I help Nemours partner with school systems to improve health for children. I’m also an advocate for children in foster care, ensuring they get the medical attention they need.
