Overview
I practiced rural dermatology in western Minnesota for 35 years, serving as a clinician, teacher, mentor, patient advocate and physician leader. After retiring in 2025, I moved to the Twin Cities to spend more time with my grandkids – but I wasn’t ready to stop caring for people. Helping others feel and look their best while optimizing skin health brings me great joy. As a general dermatologist, dermatologic surgeon and board-certified Mohs micrographic surgeon, I’ve encountered nearly every dermatologic challenge. While I won’t perform Mohs surgery in this practice, I will continue using my surgical skills. I treat patients of all ages, addressing skin cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and treating skin conditions from the common to uncommon. In my admittedly biased opinion, dermatology is the best specialty in medicine. A person’s skin reveals much about their health; it’s a bit like detective work. I strive to be the doctor I’d choose for my own family: honest and transparent, evidence-based and fiercely protective of patient safety. I’ve advocated at the Minnesota Capitol and with insurers, and I will continue fighting for the best care possible. If I ever claim to know everything, it’s time to find a new dermatologist!.
