A fellowship, completed at Johns Hopkins University, Department of Medicine, Division of Internal Medicine, was followed by a Masters of Health Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology. She currently serves as the director of the Johns Hopkins Clinical Research Scholars Program and is Deputy Director of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research. She has mentored undergraduate, public health and medical students, trainees, and junior faculty on infectious diseases and health services projects. She has authored or co-authored numerous chapters and over 250 papers.
