Federico Laham, MD, is the medical director for Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Infectious Diseases & Immunology. Dr. Laham is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. Dr. Laham received his medical degree with honors from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and completed his pediatric training at Jackson Memorial Medical Center in Miami. He then completed a pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he was a clinical instructor and attending physician. Dr. Laham’s research interests, since his work as a postdoctoral research fellow at Johns Hopkins Hospital, have included the study of early immune response against influenza and RSV and the development of biomarkers for prediction of bronchiolitis severity. He was a sub investigator in the first H1N1 pediatric influenza vaccine study in the US. He has authored several papers and presented his research findings at international meetings. He regularly teaches medical, pharmacy, and nursing students as well as pediatric residents. In 2011 he was recognized as subspecialty faculty of the year, and in 2014 was distinguished with a Exemplary Physician Colleague Award at Orlando Health. Dr. Laham is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. Federico Laham is fluent in both English and Spanish.
