Dr. Laham’s research interests, since his work as a postdoctoral research fellow at Johns Hopkins Hospital, have included the study of early immune response against influenza and RSV and the development of biomarkers for prediction of bronchiolitis severity. He was a sub investigator in the first H1N1 pediatric influenza vaccine study in the US. He has authored several papers and presented his research findings at international meetings. He regularly teaches medical, pharmacy, and nursing students as well as pediatric residents. In 2011 he was recognized as subspecialty faculty of the year, and in 2014 was distinguished with a Exemplary Physician Colleague Award at Orlando Health. Dr. Laham is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
