Overview
Dr. Jaime Roman-Pavajeau graduated summa cum laude with his medical doctorate from the Universidad Nueva Granada Hospital Militar Central in Bogota, Columbia, where he also was a postdoctoral fellow in vascular surgery. When he moved to the United States, he continued his medical training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, with residencies in general and cardiothoracic surgery as well as a postdoctoral fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery. Board certified in general surgery and board eligible in cardiothoracic surgery, Dr. Roman-Pavajeau treats patients ages 6 to 100. He has undergone advanced training in robotic surgery and minimally invasive surgical techniques, and his clinical interests include breast, digestive and lung cancers, carotid surgery, thyroid tumors, hernia repair, cysts, varicose veins and gallbladder surgery. His surgical expertise is enhanced by his training in diverse cultural and clinical settings. He also speaks Spanish fluently and his staff speak other languages, including French. His patients credit him with a personalized manner of caring and taking the time to explain treatment options in great detail.
