Dr. Jeremy Udkoff

Dr. Kelly Harms, MD, PhD, is a faculty member in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Michigan and the director of our Multi-disciplinary Cutaneous Oncology clinic. She provides patient care in our Cutaneous Surgery and Oncology clinical programs, including the Mohs surgery clinic and multidisciplinary melanoma and cutaneous oncology clinics located within the U-M Rogel Cancer Center. Dr. Harms is a board-certified dermatologist and ACGME Fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon, with specialized training and expertise in treating high-risk skin cancer.Dr. Harms joined the Dermatology faculty in 2014, upon completing her ACGME procedural dermatology fellowship, with advanced training in melanoma and cutaneous surgery and oncology at the Rogel Cancer Center. Her clinical work is focused on Mohs surgery and associated reconstruction, as well as the complex management of patients seen within our Multidisciplinary Melanoma and Merkel Cell Programs.Dr. Harms received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and her Ph.D. degree from the Medical Scientist Training Program in the Department of Cell Biology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed her internship in the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Michigan Hospitals. She completed her dermatology residency, post-doctoral research training, and procedural dermatology fellowship in the Department of Dermatology, University of Michigan Medical School. Her clinical research is focused on skin cancer biology and epidemiology, and therapy. Dr. Harms is highly rated in 8 conditions, according to our data. Dr. Christopher Bichakjian is professor of dermatology and chair of the Department of Dermatology at the University of Michigan Medical School.Dr. Bichakjian is a foremost expert in the field of cutaneous surgery and oncology. He has a special interest in Merkel cell carcinoma and established one of the first multidisciplinary programs in the world for this rare skin cancer in 2006. He has presented over 100 national and international invited lectures and visiting professorships, and authored or co-authored nearly 90 peer-reviewed publications with a primary focus on cutaneous oncology.Dr. Bichakjian received his medical degree from Radboud University in The Netherlands. After relocating to the US, he completed residency in dermatology and fellowship in micrographic surgery and cutaneous oncology at Michigan Medicine. He subsequently practiced Mohs surgery in private practice and served as adjunct faculty at Weill Medical College at Cornell University in New York City.In 2004, Dr. Bichakjian was recruited back to Ann Arbor to join the faculty in the Department of Dermatology at Michigan Medicine. He served as director of the UM Multidisciplinary Merkel Cell Carcinoma Program for more than a decade (2006-2017), In addition, he served as chief of the Division of Cutaneous Surgery and Oncology and as director of the Multidisciplinary Melanoma Program in the Rogel Cancer Center from 2017-2020. Johann Gudjonsson, MD, PhD is the Arthur C. Curtis Professor of Molecular Skin Immunology and the Frances and Kenneth Eisenberg Emerging Scholar of the Taubman Medical Research Institute. A graduate of the University of Iceland Medical School, he completed his internship and dermatology residency training at the University of Michigan. Dr. Gudjonsson has served on the faculty of the University of Michigan Department of Dermatology since 2008. He provides general medical dermatology patient care at the University of Michigan Taubman Center and maintains clinical and research interests in inflammatory and autoimmune disorders involving the skin.Dr. Gudjonsson came to the U-M in 2003 as part of an innovative research residency training program. Building upon investigative dermatology training completed in Iceland, Dr. Gudjonsson has been performing basic immunological and genetic work on psoriasis at the U-M. Dr. Gudjonsson's primary research focus is basic immunological and genetic research on psoriasis, with projects directed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis. He received the 2007 Young Investigator Award from the American Academy of Dermatology, was named the 2018 Rising Star Lecturer for the Society for Investigative Dermatology and was recipient of the American Skin Association Research Achievement Award in Psoriasis in 2021. Dr. Gudjonsson's research has been supported by research awards from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the American Skin Association, Dermatology Foundation, Doris Duke Foundation, among others.
