Dr. Suying Lam Barriga is board certified in pediatrics, pediatric cardiology and adult congenital heart disease and is with BayCare Medical Group in Tampa Bay, Florida, where she sees patients from birth throughout adulthood. He has been a principal investigator for multiple clinical trials for devices to close defects in the heart through catheters rather than open-heart surgery. He has performed device closures of over 1,500 defects. He was the first physician in the United States to use a novel transcatheter suture delivery system and is leading a multicenter, multinational trial on that device.
