Dr. Joseph K. Lee
Overview
Dr. Lee is an ABOS board-certified fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon. He graduated medical school from Brown university. He performed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Columbia University in New York, NY and followed with a fellowship in Spine Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Lee has authored numerous publications and has presented at orthopedic meetings both nationally and internationally. His clinical interests include degenerative conditions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, minimally invasive spine surgery, motion sparing disc replacements, spinal deformity, trauma, revision surgery and spine tumors/infections.
Dr. Lee has conducted extensive research in the field of spine surgery and continues to actively do so. His research interests include intervertebral disc regeneration, minimally invasive spinal surgery, spinal navigation and robotics. He is an active member of North American Spine Society (NASS), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and Lumbar Spine Research Society (LSRS).
Dr. Lee has served as the Chief of spine surgery at Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY since 2018 and will serve as the Director of minimally invasive spine surgery as well. Dr. Lee has been integral in the development of the Phelps Spine Institute that provides comprehensive spinal care for the community.
Dr. Lee's treatment philosophy has always been to treat each patient as one of his own family members. He believes in providing accurate diagnosis, thorough conservative treatments, and the most tailored surgical solution to patients so they may return to a quality of life that they enjoy.
