João Gama Marques

Gama Marques graduated from the medical school at Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa, Lisboa, Portugal (2006), where he has also been teaching psychiatry for more than ten years (2009). He received a European Federation of Psychiatric Trainees’ scholarship in London, England, United Kingdom (2012) and finished his residency in adult psychiatry at Centro Hospitalar Psiquiátrico de Lisboa, Lisboa, Portugal, Europe (2013). He was also awarded with a Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology’s fellowship in Tokyo, Japan (2016) and a European College of Neuropsychopharmacology’s scholarship in Oxford, England, United Kingdom (2016). More recently he received his Master's in Psychopharmacology from the Neuroscience Educational Institute in Carlsbad, California, United States of America (2018) and his Doctorate in Neurosciences from the Faculdade de Medicina, Universidade de Lisboa, Lisboa, Portugal, Europe (2020). His main interest is focused on clinical work, research and teaching in the schizophrenia and schizoaffective spectra disorders, particularly among patients living homeless.
