Dr. Lauren Santiesteban

Dr. Lauren G. Santiesteban is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in caring for patients needing upper extremity surgery, including procedures for the hands, wrists, elbows, arms and shoulders. Her philosophy of care is to treat every patient as unique and to spend time getting to know her patients. She works with them to choose the treatment, whether surgical or nonsurgical, that best suits their needs and goals. After completing an undergraduate degree with honors at Indiana University, Santiesteban earned her medical degree at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine. She completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at NYU Langone Health, followed by a fellowship in hand, elbow and upper extremity surgery at UCSF. Santiesteban serves as a volunteer and mentor for young learners, working with high school and college students in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), including through the Perry Initiative, a program for high school girls interested in pursuing careers in orthopedic surgery or engineering. She has served as a medical brigade volunteer and translator in Guatemala through Timmy Global Health. She has a special interest in diversity in orthopedics and has published studies on the topic.

Her clinical expertise encompasses Dupuytren Contracture, Rhizarthrosis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Ganglion Cyst, and Osteotomy.

Dr. Santiesteban is board certified in American Board Of Orthopaedic Surgery., Orthopaedic Surgery. She is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 4 peer reviewed articles. Dr. Santiesteban is currently accepting new patients.
