Houstonian Phillip David Applegate, Jr., DPM, graduated with his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in College Station and went on to earn his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale. There, he co-authored a study on the endoscopic management of intermetatarsal neuromas, which was published in the “Open Journal of Orthopedics.” He was also active nationally with the American Podiatric Medical Students’ Association, where he served as national president. Dr. David Applegate went on to complete a three-year foot and ankle surgical residency during which he trained for a year in Ohio at the Cleveland Clinic and received two years of extensive surgical training in foot and ankle surgery at the Surgical Hospital of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.
