Dr. Patrick Lang

Dr. Patrick Lang is a hand surgeon who specializes in hand, wrist and forearm reconstruction. Providing nonsurgical as well as surgical care, he has a particular interest in managing hand and wrist fractures, nerve compression (such as in carpal tunnel syndrome) and Dupuytren's contracture (a genetic condition in which tightening tissues under the skin cause the fingers to bend toward the palm). Understanding the value and meaning that manual dexterity brings to human lives, he is committed to helping his patients maximize their hand function. Lang earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at UCSF, followed by a fellowship in orthopedic hand surgery at the Curtis National Hand Center. Lang and his wife started their residencies together at UCSF a few months after getting married in 2007. They now have three children, all of whom have expressed an interest in medicine. On weekends, he can be found riding his road bike in the East Bay hills.
