After earning a degree in biology from Rice University, Dr. Sameer Murali completed his medical degree and residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He also completed a master’s in health services research from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Board certified in internal medicine, obesity medicine and lifestyle medicine, Dr. Murali specializes in helping patients achieve sustainable weight loss and better health through personalized, science-based care. At the medical school, he serves as the Medical Director of Surgical Training and part of the Elective General Surgery team. He is active academically with membership in several medical societies and has received academic recognition and published or presented articles.
