Overview
I’m originally from Chicago and attended medical school at the University of Chicago‘s Pritzker School of Medicine. After my internship and residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, I worked at the University of Maryland for six years before coming back to Minnesota, where my father's family is from. I went to medical school because I enjoy science, and I like being able to translate science into something that can make a positive impact on people's lives. I am a general surgeon with a special interest in surgery of the gastrointestinal tract. My emphasis is on cancer, specifically pancreatic and other abdominal cancers. I was the Cancer Liaison Physician to the American College of Surgeons Committee on Cancer for the Regions Hospital Cancer Care Center for a number of years. I currently serve as the Assistant Department Chair at Regions Hospital. In additional to my clinical role, I have an interest in teaching and am site director for the University of Minnesota’s surgical training program at Regions Hospital.
