Overview
"While pursuing an interest in orthopedics, I found myself drawn to the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation, particularly to patients with spinal cord injuries. During residency, I came to realize that my career path was more than an interest, but a calling I had to fulfill. As medical director of patient experience at Regions Hospital, I’m also focused on health equity and disparities. I believe that patients in rehabilitation need to be restored, not only physically but also emotionally, socially and in many other areas of their lives. I want my patients to know that I am their biggest advocate: I am committed to helping restore their function so they can have good quality of life. Patients can count on me to exhaust all available resources in an effort to bring about their best achievable function. Encouragement, hope and restoration are my guiding principles, and I live by the motto that ""life begins after injury.""".
