Dr. Schergen earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He completed his surgical residency at SSM Health DePaul Health Center in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Schergen conducted a year fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction and limb salvage through the Professional Education and Research Institute in Roanoke, VA. He also served a five-week fellowship in Germany to train with four renowned foot and ankle orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Schergen is an associate member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and was named SSM Health Southern Illinois Physician of the Year in 2021.
