
Overview
Dr. Timothy Borden, who grew up in southwest Florida, earned his undergraduate degree from Rice University and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed both his internship and residency at Emory University in Atlanta, followed by a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital and a second fellowship in pediatric spine surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. In practice since 2012, Dr. Borden treats a wide variety of pediatric orthopedic conditions. His primary clinical interests are scoliosis, pediatric spine deformity and disorders, pediatric trauma and fractures, pediatric limb deformities, pediatric hip problems, pediatric foot conditions, neuromuscular and congenital disorders, and cerebral palsy. He also specializes in the treatment of pediatric trauma and fractures, neuromuscular and congenital conditions, and complex hip, limb and foot deformities. Dr. Borden also serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). His research interests include scoliosis, pediatric spine deformity, pediatric trauma and patient safety. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Eric Klineberg received his undergraduate degree from Rice University and then a master’s degree in zoology and neural networks at the University of Maryland, before earning his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Washington Medical System in Seattle then a combined neurosurgery and orthopedic surgical spine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. Dr. Klineberg is board certified in orthopedic surgery. His primary clinical interests include spinal degeneration, deformity, tumor and fracture; adult and pediatric spinal deformity surgery; and cervical compression and deformity. Dr. Klineberg is committed to excellence in surgical care with an emphasis on communication, compassion and empathy. He strives to treat each patient as he would like himself or a family member to be treated. A professor and vice chair in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Dr. Klineberg serves as Chief of Orthopedic Spine Surgery and holds the Milton “Chip” Routt Endowed Chair of Spinal Surgery. His research, teaching and clinical activity have earned Dr. Klineberg an international reputation in spinal deformity surgery. Author of over then 300 publications and book chapters, he also edited Adult Lumbar Scoliosis, A Clinical Guide to Diagnosis and Management and is a principal or co-principal investigator for more than a half-dozen clinical studies. His major research interests are enhancement of spinal fusion with stem cells and proteins and spinal deformity and outcomes. He serves on the board of directors of the Scoliosis Research Society and on the executive committee of the International Spine Study Group. He is also the North American Chair of AO Spine, a global academic community that promotes excellence in education, research, patient care and outcomes.
