Rana Hamdy, MD, MSCE, MPH, completed a pediatric residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and a pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She received a medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, a master's degree in public health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a master's degree in clinical epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She is a current member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Panel on the Pediatric Antiretroviral Therapy and Management Guidelines at the Office of AIDS Research Advisory Council in National Institutes of Health and the Pediatric Advisory Working Group at the World Health Organization. She also serves as a senior technical advisor at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatrics AIDS Foundation, where she leads diverse projects on pediatric and adolescent HIV treatment in sub-Saharan African countries.
