William Ensor, DO, is an osteopathic medicine physician who specializes in ophthalmology. He provides eye care for men and women, including treatment for cataracts, glaucoma, eye trauma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, stye removal and double vision.|He also performs eye surgery, including eyelid laceration repair, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, laser peripheral iridotomy, limbal relaxing incisions, temporal artery biopsy and astigmatism correction.|Dr. Ensor has a clinical interest in cataract surgery.|“The best thing about my job is making a difference in the lives of patients through sight,” he says. “Ophthalmology is a wonderful field filled with positive experiences, especially after successful eye surgery, treatment of painful eye conditions and making life-changing diagnoses.”|Dr. Ensor attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a residency in ophthalmology at Geisinger Eye Institute in Danville, where he served as chief resident.|Dr. Ensor is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Osteopathic Association and American Academy of Ophthalmology.|In recognition of his commitment to resident education, Dr. Ensor recently received the Louise Justin Sabol teaching award.|He serves as a fellow volunteer for the Global Impact Lab of Unite for Sight, providing eye care to impoverished people in Ghana. “In order to have a purpose in life, life must have a purpose,” he says.|Dr. Ensor has published several papers and participated in many research projects.|In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, traveling and spending time with his wife and children, who serve as his inspiration. “They all keep me grounded to see the bigger picture in life,” he says.
His clinical expertise encompasses Cataract, Dry Eye Syndrome, Adult-Onset Vitelliform Macular Dystrophy (AVMD), Glaucoma, and Vitrectomy.
He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 2 peer reviewed articles. Dr. Ensor is currently accepting new patients.
