Ryan Matthew Sutton, MD, specializes in hip and knee care, from joint preservation to complex joint replacement. He treats people with hip and knee arthritis, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), developmental dysplasia of the hip and pain or stiffness after prior joint surgery. Dr. Sutton offers total hip and knee replacement, partial (unicompartmental) knee replacement, patellofemoral knee replacement and revision surgery for failed or infected implants. When appropriate, he uses minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques and partners with patients on rapid-recovery, outpatient options to help them get back to work, sports and everyday life safely.|Dr. Sutton focuses on clear communication and informed decision-making. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the Rothman Institute. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.|A committed clinician-researcher, Dr. Sutton has authored 45+ peer-reviewed publications and presented his work nationally on topics such as health policy, management of periprosthetic joint infection, outpatient joint replacement and outcomes after hip and knee arthroplasty. His honors include the Philip Syng Physick Award for outstanding research at the Rothman Institute, as well as the Eastern Orthopaedic Association Resident/Fellow Paper Award.
