Dr. Eugene Tarasov
Overview
Dr. Tarasov is board certified general surgeon treating people with multiple conditions. He was born in Riga, Latvia and immigrated to Chicago. After arriving he finished his undergraduate studies in chemistry at Loyola University Chicago which then led him to obtain a Masters and Doctorate degree in the field of Biochemistry and Chemistry. During this time he worked on development of artificial blood substitutes and was advanced to a professor. He then was able to attend Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine during which time he developed his interest in surgery. He was then able to attend Franciscan St. James General Surgery residency at Olympia Fields, IL. Dr. Tarasov wanted to be a community surgeon around the area where he grew up, and after completion of his residency he was able to join Chicago Surgical Clinic which is only a few miles away from the home where he grew up.
