Dr. Sherif A. Andrawes

Dr. Andrawes currently serves as Director of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, and Director of the Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Fellowship program at Staten Island University Hospital. His commitment to patient care and education is exceptional, as demonstrated by his dedication to training medical students, residents, GI fellows, and advanced endoscopy fellows. He holds regional and national recognition for his expertise in advanced therapeutic and interventional endoscopy, regularly presenting at national meetings and contributing to national gastroenterology societies. Following his advanced endoscopy fellowship under Dr. Gregory Haber at Lenox Hill Hospital in 2014, Dr. Andrawes joined Staten Island University Hospital. In 2019, he established the advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellowship, which has graduated four fellows to date and is fully subscribed through 2025.
