I grew up just outside of Woodstock, New York. I received my BS from Bard College and attended medical school at New York Medical College. I graduated from Medical School as a member of AOA, the National Honor Society, and entered my pediatrics training at Westchester County Medical Center. Upon completion, I trained for an additional year in a fellowship for adolescent medicine. I began working as a pediatrician in a large Community Health Center Organization which had eleven different sites. I was employed there for fourteen years, the last ten years of which I worked as Director of Pediatrics. I moved to Raleigh to be closer to my family and was happy to accept a position with Growing Child Pediatrics. I am bilingual and work with many Spanish-speaking patients. I am passionate about giving the best medical care to my patients and wouldn’t change any career decision I have made in life, including the privilege to be part of Growing Child Pediatrics.

Born and raised in the midwest, I was always taught to be kind to strangers and fiercely loyal to friends and family. I have paralleled this strategy with my pediatric practice, always treating my patients as I would my own children. After raising three daughters of my own, I can empathize with the parents of colicky infants, restless toddlers, and moody teens. I can help guide parents through those tough times. Whether it's from illness or emotional challenges, I will offer the care parents are hoping for. I have been practicing pediatrics for 20 years and have a wealth of experience in keeping children healthy and happy.

As a general pediatrician, I treat children for routine check-ups, as well as a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions. I care for children's physical, behavioral, and developmental health. I have been a pediatrician for over 25 years, but I am still inspired each and every day by the energy, resilience, and diversity of the kids and families I care for. I think it’s critically important to actively listen and to understand each child and family’s perspective, background, and needs. Every child’s journey is unique and different, and we need to understand that journey before we can meet their needs through shared decision-making. Outside of the office, I love to spend time with my wife and my two young adult children. We enjoy traveling, hiking, and discovering new trails and greenways together. I strive to make my patients and their families feel as comfortable as possible during each office visit. When not practicing pediatrics, I love spending time with my husband and two daughters. We enjoy hiking in the mountains of North Carolina, exploring nature, silly dancing, cooking, and playing tennis. Being a mom to my two young daughters has taught me to take a more practical approach when providing guidance to patients and their families.

As a general pediatrician, I care for patients from birth through their college years. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families during well and sick visits and working with them to create and achieve goals for their health. Caring for children is a team effort, and it is important for me to partner with my patients and their families to understand their unique needs. Seeing my patients grow up and thrive is one of the most fulfilling parts of being a pediatrician. When I’m not in the clinic, I enjoy walking the many beautiful nature trails around the Triangle, eating at new restaurants with friends, and working on my knitting projects while my cats try to steal my yarn.

Building lasting relationships with my patients and their families truly is one of my favorite parts of being a pediatrician. It brings me so much joy to follow children from infancy through adolescence and watch them grow and develop over the years. As a mother myself, I understand the level of comfort and trust that I need to provide parents when they entrust the care of their child to me, and I strive to work together with parents as a team to provide the best care for their child. Outside of work, my husband and I stay busy with our three little boys, going on adventures small and large. When I do get a little free time to myself, I enjoy getting lost in a really good book or hitting the pavement for a nice long run.

I moved with the INN to Roosevelt Medical Center in 2004 and remained senior Neuro-ICU hospitalist five years. I married my wife and we moved to Morehead City, NC where I worked at the Carteret Clinic for Adolescents and Children in an outpatient pediatrician’s role. After two years we moved to Raleigh and I joined Growing Child Pediatrics. My academic interests include general pediatrics and AADD/ADHD (Fastbraiin). I also love spending time with my family, practicing martial arts, and woodworking.
