My passion for medicine began when I was a 17-year-old serving with a volunteer fire department/rescue squad in Maryland. During this time, I became an America Red Cross instructor and an Emergency Medical Technician. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:When I am not seeing patients, I am spending time with my family. My son plays soccer amongst other sports and my husband often coaches. We are often found at soccer fields practicing, and having picnics or at parks fishing. We enjoy the outdoors and hiking and biking, as well as gardening, cooking, and traveling. I am an avid reader when time allows and I have learned quite a lot about animals as it is my son's passion. My family tends to visit many zoos and animal conservatories when we travel.

I learned about the physician assistant profession when I was in college, and I knew this was the right career path for me as I could work independently and collaboratively with physicians in any field of medicine. I always have been interested in the sciences, double majoring in biology and exercise science in college, and have had a passion for helping others- so medicine was the right fit for me.
