I initially went into college pursuing a health science degree for practical reasons, to have a stable and always in demand career. It turns out I quickly came to love the art and science of medicine and consider it a great privilege to be able to help people as my job.What I want my patients to know about me:I have worked several specialties as a physician assistant over the past 12 years. I have been in pediatrics for the past five years. Family and pediatric medicine have been my most satisfying areas to practice in because it allows me to create long-term relationships with my patients. Knowing as much as possible about my patients is important because I believe in treating the whole patient and not just the symptoms. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I am usually spending time with my husband and two boys outdoors or working on one of the many projects to be done around our 19th century farmhouse renovation. I am also one of those people that like to run for fun.

I have always been interested in science and medicine, even back to my high school anatomy classes. The human body is amazingly intricate, and I know I can spend my whole career still learning more. I decided to be a physician assistant to enjoy the perfect balance of using my medical degree, and the flexibility of enjoying my family in my time off. I've always loved office medicine, specifically family practice, and love the wide range of ages that I see and the fact that I can get to know my patients over the years.What I want my patients to know about me:I try to spend as much time with my patients as I can, while also trying my best to keep my appointments on time. My goal during each visit is to explain things to my patients as clearly as I can so that no questions go unanswered. I try to focus on disease prevention in our conversations and hope that this is empowering. I hope to be doing the same thing for many years to come.What I do when I’m not seeing patients?:When I'm not at work I'm enjoying time with my husband and taking care of my four energetic kids. We love to be involved in our local church. I love playing board games with my kids as well as exercising, cooking and baking in my free time.

Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare?:I always wanted to be in healthcare since a small child but I originally wanted to be a veterinarian due to my love of all creatures.After my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, I saw how amazing her healthcare providers were and how they changed her healthcare experience.They were always there for her and were so kind/caring.It was at that time that I shifted my focus to humans as I felt that I could make a large impact on many.I chose to be a physician assistant so I could minimize my school debt and start my family sooner. I have no regrets with this choice and I love being a physician assistant.What I want my patients to know about me?:I am married to my husband Joel who is an automechanic. We have two high energy daughters, Sophia and Gianna. My family loves all creatures and we have an almost 18 year old cat named Ambie (and two fish).I love my job and caring for my patients. I treat all my patients as I would my family. I am empathetic and understanding to all. I am very responsive to my patient's concerns and always respond in a timely fashion. I encourage my patients to use My Wellspan as that is the easiest way to get ahold of me.I am very flexible/patient and always encourage patients to be their own healthcare advocates.I treat patients of all ages (2 days to 100 years) and all medical conditions but my passion is mental health disorders. Having a hx of anxiety myself makes it very easy to relate to and connect with my patients.What I do when I’m not seeing patients?:You will likely find me with my family! My girls are growing up so fast and I love spending every moment I can with them! We love going to playgrounds, petting zoos, Cherry Crest, and Dutch Wonderland! I love reading, doing puzzles, doing crafts, listening to music, and drawing/coloring! I enjoy cooking/baking! If I get lucky, I love to spend time with my friends!.
