Dr. David Fowler is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed a surgical internship and sports medicine research fellowship at the University of Massachusetts and with the Boston Red Sox before returning to UPMC to complete his orthopaedic training. Dr. Fowler served as medical staff president of AHN Forbes and as a member of the medical executive committee at UPMC East. He currently serves as the Orthopaedic Section Chief at UPMC East. Albert Lin, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon. F. Johannes Plate, MD, PhD, is an orthopaedic surgeon fellowship-trained in primary and complex total hip and knee replacements. As the director of adult reconstruction research, Dr. Plate has published over 100 journal articles and book chapters and has presented research at national and international conferences. His research interests include value-based care, robotic techniques for hip and knee replacement, mitigating patient risk factors to improve surgical outcomes, and the treatment of prosthetic joint infections.
