He has served as an associate team physician for the Atlanta Falcons, an assistant orthopaedic team physician for the San Diego Chargers football team, and an assistant team physician for the professional International Hockey League. He was an orthopaedic sports medicine physician treating athletes in the Olympic Village during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. He has served as a sideline physician for the USA Women's Soccer Team. He has also served as sideline physician for the college football Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game and Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, and as a physician for the professional tennis players at the annual BB&T Tennis Atlanta Open. Dr. Flint earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. He completed internships in internal medicine and general surgery, and a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Emory University affiliated hospitals in Atlanta. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and is active in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Flint practiced for 18 years at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, where he was chief of surgery for 15 years and the medical director of physical therapy. Dr. Flint is a native of Cherokee County. He graduated valedictorian from Cherokee High School and Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University with highest honors.When not working he enjoys woodworking, music and outdoor sports.
